Painter. In 1974 he lived in Mexico, establishing contact and friendship with the important figure of Latin American art, José Luis Cuevas, who introduced him to the La Esmeralda National School of Painting and Sculpture in Mexico City. In 1977 he returned to Venezuela and began architecture studies at the ULA until 1981, without finishing them. While he was a student at this house of studies, he taught as a perspective coach, and five years later he taught mixed media courses at The Visitations College (Saint Louis, Missouri, United States) in 1986.

At the end of the 1980s, formally dedicates himself to painting, a time in which he integrates the cosmos, the earth and the nebula NGC 260 of the Orion constellation as constant themes in his work, indicating the entry of the planet, and of his work, into the year 2000. To his work the artist expresses: "the philosophical concept of my work is a transitory element of this century and the beginning of the next. The human forms of classical treatment or nude are presented in the vibrant and infinite space holding geometric macrostructures carrying signs, some sometimes figurative and others gestural or abstract, which essentially mean the relationship of being as a witness in the past, present and future of creativity through time." Jorge Belandria currently lives in San Cristóbal and exhibits permanently at The Ascott Terrace in New York, since 1992.
